今日、ご紹介する指を使った英語の数え詩は、娘が９か月のころに子供の会で初めて習った歌です。他のクラスのみんなはアメリカ人ということもあって、歌も動きもよく知っていて、いきなり歌い始めたので、とても困惑した覚えがあります。どうも、アメリカ人では誰もが知っている歌のようです。
ビデオの動きよりもっと大げさに動くともっと楽しいです。（ビデオとは歌詞が少し違いますが、下記のバージョンが一般的です）
Five little ducks（5本の指を見せます）
Went out one day
Over the hill and far away（5本の指を丘を登って下りているようにうねらせます）
Mother duck said
“Quack, quack, quack, quack.”（もう一つの手でアヒルの口の真似をします（または、わらわらダンスをする））
But only four little ducks came back. （4本の指をうねらせます）
Four little ducks（4本の指を見せて、上記の動きを繰り返します）
Went out one day
Over the hill and far away
Mother duck said
“Quack, quack, quack, quack.”
But only three little ducks came back.（3本の指をうねらせます）
Three little ducks（3本の指を見せて、上記の動きを繰り返します）
Went out one day
Over the hill and far away
Mother duck said
“Quack, quack, quack, quack.”
But only two little ducks came back.（2本の指をうねらせます）
Two little ducks（2本の指を見せて、上記の動きを繰り返します）
Went out one day
Over the hill and far away
Mother duck said
“Quack, quack, quack, quack.”
But only one little duck came back.（1本の指をうねらせます）
One little duck（1本の指を見せて、上記の動きを繰り返します）
Went out one day
Over the hill and far away
Mother duck said
“Quack, quack, quack, quack.”
And none of the five little ducks came back.（がっかりします）
Sad mother duck（寂しそうに指を見せずに、上記の動きを繰り返します）
Went out one day
Over the hill and far away
Mother duck said
“Quack, quack, quack, quack.”
And all of the five little ducks came back（嬉しそうに5本の指をうねらせます）.
